Nicole Fritz is a globally respected human rights lawyer, lecturer, and strategic director. Nicole has an outstanding history of striving for egalitarianism and fighting for the rights of minorities in South Africa. Nicole currently serves as chief executive officer of Freedom Under Law, an organisation which seeks to promote democracy, constitutionalism, human rights, and the rule of law in South Africa. She is a member of the panel of experts convened by the Hague Institute of Global Justice on International Human Rights and International Criminal Law Fact-Finding.

Prior to this, Nicole was the founding executive director of the Southern Africa Litigation Centre, which provides support, both technical and financial, to lawyers in South Africa who are advancing human rights, constitutional law, and the rule of law. Their programmes address international criminal justice, women's and children’s rights, the rights of persons affected by HIV/AIDS, the rights of sexual minorities, and free speech rights.

Nicole has participated in several global initiatives relating to international human rights law, humanitarian law, and public interest litigation. She has also taught courses relating to these subjects in South Africa and the United States and contributes public comment on these topics.
